Instructor Palhaço

Instructor Palhaço was first introduced to Capoeira at the beginning of 2001. Wholly new and almost entirely unheard of in Serbia at the time, it won him over at first sight with its vibrant music and freedom of movement not seen in any other sport, art or dance. However, for Palhaço serious dedication to this martial art began only with the establishment of his training with Professor Steen (of Copenhagen, Denmark) who is a student of Master Peixinho (Centro Cultural Senzala de Capoeira, Rio de Janeiro), the highest ranked teacher of Senzala outside of Brazil. Professor Steen inspired Palhaço to elevate his commitment to the sport, taking Capoeira from being a hobby to a passion and a central role in his life. In September of 2006, after five years of hard daily work, numerous workshops here and overseas Palhaço, to the initiative of Professor Steen, he opened his first Capoeira school in Zemun. Today he gives classes to the all statures, and Palhaço focuses on younger generations of Capoeiras followers.

Centro Cultural Senzala de Capoeira

The group Centro Cultural Senzala de Capoeira is part of the Senzala group. Its founders are Marcelo Guimarães, Master Peixinho and their students.
Master Paixinho, one of the greatest Capoeira Masters of our time, with his special concept of Capoeira founded upon the principles of development, creativity and high level of technique made the group one of the best known and most unique. Of course Capoeira is in essence one and indivisible, based on the techniques of the old Masters, but it’s also developing over time, opening up to new methodologies of learning which are surpassing traditional styles of the art (Angola and Regional). In fact knowing the history behind the making of Capoeira is the groundwork needed for its continuous progress and evolution, in which, today, Master Peixinho, his students and the group Cultural Senzala de Capoeira have the leading role.
